Haunted by memories of the disastrous Troubles of Northern Ireland, Jeri O'Donnell has joined her old friend, Rafi Gregoric, who is now a power broker in the new Russia. Rafi's current venture is arranging a meeting between a Tibetan monk and a noted UN official. The monk has evidence of brutal Chinese oppression and, if his information becomes public, perhaps the reforms that swept the Soviet Union can reach China.

Guiding the UN official through Himalayan highlands is exactly the kind of work that Jeri seeks to exercise her skills and exorcise her conscience. With the help of a Sherpa and his nephew who know the back trails, Jeri hopes to avoid Chinese and Nepali border guards as well as British SAS forces who have targeted her as a terrorist.

Just as the mountain trek begins, Jeri encounters Kelly Corcoran, a tourist from the United States. Kelly is aimlessly adrift in Nepal, emotionally desolated by the recent loss of her brother and his friends to AIDS. Both women recognize that a powerful connection links them, but while Kelly is willing to gamble her heart, Jeri struggles against involving anyone in her perilous and chaotic life. An uneasy compromise finds Kelly accompanying the small group at least to the Tibetan border. On this journey, Kelly will need every ounce of her courage and nerve to convince Jeri that the future only makes sense if they risk a life together.

Follow Jeri's adventures in Book II of the thrilling Refractions Series.

In the summer of 1951, a hate crime happened in a small Texas town. It was covered up at the time, but the deadly event changed the lives of everyone involved. One of those, E.L. “Marty” Signoret, went on to write a famous young adult novel similar in impact to “To Kill a Mockingbird.”

Now in her eighties, Marty returns to Tantona, Texas, accompanied by her young would-be biographer. Marty is there for the funeral of Roberta—the closeted lesbian who left a path of wounded lovers in her lifetime.

Roberta Steinhall, beautiful and ruthless, was the queen of the closet for over sixty years, yet she must have been a teenager once. Must have been ready to risk everything for the love of a girl. That girl was Marty.

A house burned down; a life was lost. Lies were told and secrets buried. Now Marty is ready to tell the truth to a circle of lesbians and gay men who knew Roberta in her prime.

As a child she always had a wild imagination, and she still sometimes finds her mind in a parallel universe. Charlene loved to write poetry in school, and she also wrote songs for her music band when she was in high school. Luckily, the band was just a rebel phase, and she soon returned to reality.

Currently, Charlene works as a specialized case manager for a big medical company. In her free time she loves to play with her children and read novels, but, she lives to write. Once she starts, she just can't stop. Her first novel, The Prodigins, was published by a South African publisher, Memories SA. It's a fantasy novel with the young reader in mind.

Charlene's passion, however, lies with lesbian romance and the paranormal. Her interest in the paranormal was inspired by events that happened to her throughout her life. Most of the experiences described in her second novel, The Presence, are based on real events. The Presence will be published by Blue Feather Books in 2013.
Charlene is currently working on her third novel, which she is hoping to finish by the end of 2013.

Rebecca, despite her best intentions, is falling in love with Kayleigh. But when Rebecca moves in with Kayleigh to help her get to the bottom of the haunting, she finds more than she bargained for. Alex Marcotte is a runner. She's been running since the day her twin brother took his life at the age of fifteen to escape the bullying he endured for being gay. Happy New Year to all our readers! We're kicking off the new year with Gato Timberlake's debut novel, an E. Taylor mystery, No Corpse Is an Island:

How hard can it be for the outstanding Private Investigator Elizabeth Taylor to find the research papers of a man who killed himself? A man who was the fiancé of her housemate? Figuring it should be a breeze, Taylor (her preferred moniker) jumps at the job. Uh-oh. Turns out the police can't rule out foul play, and Taylor, being Taylor, can't rule out getting involved.

With high hopes of finding Stan McCormick's notes, she travels to Grafton Island in Chesapeake Bay, where Stan was in the middle of a land dispute. Upon her arrival, she meets the attractive and beguiling Priscilla Stewart. Could it be love at first sight? Leave it to Taylor to fall for a murder suspect! Priscilla got smashed the day Stan died, and she can't remember anything that did or didn't happen. Taylor's mission has expanded from locating Stan's notes to finding Stan's killer, thereby proving Priscilla's innocence.

Taylor noses around and asks questions that put her right in the middle of problems centered on Grafton Island: farmers against the watermen, newcomers against the old-time residents, and environmentalists against the questionable real estate dealings of developers.

The more investigating she does, the more people she finds with motives to have murdered Stan. She receives threatening notes and has several close calls that rattle her to the bone. She finds Stan's research papers, but can she find the killer before he makes fish bait out of her?
