Happy Fourth of July! Happy Canada Day to our Northern friends, too.

Atlanta Pride was a big success! We'd like to thank all the people who came out to see us and to welcome all the new members to the updates list. We sold a lot of books, met a lot of wonderful people, and had a great time! We'd particularly like to thank Mavis Applewater, who came all the way down from Boston to sign books and tote boxes. (Okay, she probably wasn't planning that last, but we appreciated the help more than we can say.) Things went pretty smoothly, with the exception of some rain showers on Sunday morning. With Mavis's help, though, we managed to deal with that. Mavis's chiropractor sent us a lovely thank-you note.

Orlando Bardcon will be our next event, so stay tuned for more information. Authors, we'll be contacting you soon to confirm arrangements with those of you who plan to attend.

New Releases:

Connecting Hearts, by Val Brown and MJ Walker, is in the final stages of production. We expect to see galleys late next week and to have the book available for ordering very soon after that. This lovely story, the prequel to Family Connections, has been completely re-edited and reformatted. It's even got a spiffy new cover!

On a Wing and a Prayer, kd bard's long-awaited debut novel, will follow Connecting Hearts, and K. Darblyne's Up in the Air will be released after that. Both books are in the final stages of editing and we're very pleased with the way they're shaping up. We think you'll like them, too.

Again, have a great holiday weekend and stay safe!

It's not a guy thing
It's not a girl thing
It's a PRIDE thing.

Okay, for us it pretty much is a girl thing. For one June weekend in Atlanta, though, it's ALL a Pride thing! Come join us in Georgia for one of the biggest Pride celebrations in the country. We'll have a booth in the festival area, and we're working on setting up a "meet the authors" event at Charis Books, an independent feminist bookstore.

Caitlin and Joyce will be in the booth, and we'd love to meet you. We'll have free feather bookmarks, and we'll have drawings for free books on both Saturday and Sunday. Arrive a day early to enjoy the Indigo Girls concert on Friday night (FREE for festival attendees), then have a blast at the myriad Pride events all weekend long!

What's New? We're new! Welcome to the Blue Feather Books website, which also happens to be brand new. In fact, its' so new that we've still got a couple of sections under construction, including the all-important shopping basket. However, we expect to go live in a few days.
If you have any questions about or problems accessing the site, please drop a note to the webmistress and we'll get right on it. If you have other comments or questions, feel free to write to us here. We'll build a separate FAQ section as soon as people start asking questions frequently.

For now, though, settle back and explore the place. Check out the author pages, browse the Coming Soon section, and join our Yahoo! group (announcements only) so you can get updates and new release information right away. We've got some exciting new titles coming out, so stick around! (Our mailing list is private, and we will never, ever sell, rent or lend your e-mail address or personal details to anyone else.)
